SNOW SNOW and more SNOW!
PhotobucketPhotobucket
we had a total of ONE snow storm last winter that left an inch or two on the ground for 2 days. the rest of the winter we had no snow and many 60 and 70 degree days - nutso weather - we are making up for it this year! tons of snow already and it's only november!

Thanksgiving - 2009

grandma and grandpa earnest came for thanksgiving this year. we loved having them all to ourselves. we had all the traditional food. I cooked the turkey for the third year in a row, turned out great, brining is the key, i think - and then of course not overcooking it! I made my first homemade gourmet key-lime pie - delish! i love food!

billy turns 9 - November 17, 2009

he's nine. that sounds old. he is old. he is mature and kind and responsible and oh so smart. he is sensative and thoughtful, he has a surprisingly mature conviction of the reality of our savior and understanding of the scriptures. he is quick witted, funny and a little too charming! he is a great athlete and friend. he is an awesome brother and son. we love our billy.

Never seen anything like this . . .

OOOOOOUUUCH!!! Man this poor little guy was a huge trooper when this happened last night.
Photobucket
We were sitting in the upstairs hallway and Andrew was reading to me, he jumped up to go get a drink of water, and somehow hit his mouth with his knee causing his upper teeth to jam one of his front bottom ones WAY too far down and in front of where it is supposed to be! You can see the path that the tooth took to get to it's new home. Of course Bill was gone at the Broncos Game (stinky game!!) when it happened (that's what we get for allowing one of us to go do something else on a Monday Family night!) So we paged the dentist, who was also at the football game, called over a neighbor doctor, used tweezers to see if the sucker would move (it would not budge at ALL), consulted the doctor that was with Bill at the game, called a babysitter over, almost walked into the ER at Skyridge Hospital, only to end up giving Andrew some motrin and putting him somewhat comfortably to bed for the night - tooth still jammed where you see it. I was prepared for a long night - but Andrew slept through no problem. We went to his dentist first thing this morning and . . . She left it there. Took some X-rays, and said that the best thing to do was to let it move back into place naturally, which she actually thought it might do! Wow, really?! We'll see I guess - two weeks we go back and get it checked out again. Lots of pudding, yogurt and ice cream for this little guy. Anyone have some great suggestions for soft, spoonable, yummy and healthy food - I have a feeling I am going to run out of healthy ideas pretty quickly!
